Arlo Walnut Wall Lamp

The Arlo Wall Lamp brings quiet, retro warmth to a wall. Solid walnut is paired with brushed brass in a compact spotlight shape, and the head rotates so light can be aimed exactly where it is wanted, whether that is a page beside the bed, a shelf of books or a stretch of wall used as background lighting. A pull chain handles the switching, a small tactile detail that suits the mid-century character of the piece.

The body is made from real walnut wood with a natural finish and brass fittings, so the materials age gracefully rather than looking dated. It stands 12 cm high with a 10 cm base, a depth of 15 cm and a 6.5 cm shade, which keeps it close to the wall in narrow spaces. The fitting takes an E27 bulb, sold separately, with LED recommended, and runs across a broad 100 to 245V supply for focused, comfortable light.

Arlo works beside a bed, in a study, along a hallway or above a reading chair, and pairs neatly either side of a headboard. It is a hardwired wall fixture, so have a qualified electrician install it with the circuit isolated. Keep the pull chain out of the reach of small children, and use the lamp indoors in dry rooms only. Dust the walnut with a dry, soft cloth and avoid damp cleaning or polish on the brass.
