Coloured Glass Pendant Light

The Coloured Glass Pendant Light is a compact hanging lamp with a tinted glass shade set into dark iron fittings. At 15 centimetres across and 22 high it is small enough to hang in a group without crowding a room, and distinct enough to work on its own over a bench. Two glass tones are offered: a warm rust that glows amber when lit, and a smoke grey that stays moodier and cooler in tone.

The shade is premium coloured glass with iron hardware, a combination picked for durability as much as for the contrast between the polished glass and the matte metal. Light takes on the colour of the shade as it passes through, which is what gives the fixture its warm, atmospheric character rather than a plain white wash. It takes an E27 bulb, not included, and an LED bulb is recommended. The 150 centimetre cable adjusts to suit the ceiling height.

Hang one above a bedside or a hallway console, or run a row of three above a kitchen island, dining table or bar. It holds up equally well in commercial rooms such as cafes and restaurants, where the tinted glass reads well against dark interiors. Fitting is ceiling-mounted and hardwired, so have a qualified electrician set the drop and make the connection. Clean the glass with a soft dry cloth. The pendant is for dry indoor use and not for wet or outdoor positions.
