Glass Ball Pendant Light

The Glass Ball Pendant Light is a simple sphere of coloured glass on a slim metal fitting, the kind of shape that works alone and works even better repeated. It comes in two diameters, 15 and 20 centimetres, with a 25 centimetre overall height, and in four glass tones: blue, brown, red and smoke grey. Mixing sizes or colours along a run is an easy way to build a designer look without adding visual weight.

The shade is hand-blown glass finished with brass detailing, so each sphere carries small variations in the glass rather than a flat machine finish. Light passes through the tinted glass and takes on its tone, giving a warm, softened glow that suits evening rooms and low settings. The fixture accepts an E27 bulb, LED included among the options, which is not supplied, and handles 5 to 40 watts depending on the bulb you choose. It runs on AC 85 to 265 volts.

Use a single sphere above a bedside, a hallway or a corner chair, or hang three or five in a staggered row over a dining table, kitchen island or bar. Fitting is a standard ceiling-mounted pendant with an adjustable cable trimmed to your preferred drop, and wiring should be done by a qualified electrician. Clean the glass with a soft dry cloth, supporting the sphere as you do. The fixture is designed for dry indoor rooms and is not suitable for wet or outdoor positions.
