Nordic Flying Saucer Pendant Light

The Nordic Flying Saucer Pendant Light takes a wide, shallow disc and gives it a two-tone finish, so the underside reads as a different colour from the top. The result is playful without being childish: smooth rounded contours, a strong colour contrast and a low profile that sits close to the ceiling line. Beige and red, green and red, and full red are offered, each shifting the mood of the room considerably.

Light comes from an integrated LED system rated at 56 W, tuned to be soft and easy on the eyes rather than sharp. Warm white, cool white and tri-colour settings let you move the room from working light to evening light. The body is iron, and the fixture runs on 90 to 260 V. Two sizes are offered, 30 cm and 40 cm across at 12 cm high, covering roughly five to eighteen square metres.

The smaller size suits a bedroom, entry or a compact dining nook; the larger works over a living room or a cafe table setting. Hang it centrally and keep it above head height in walkways. The pendant is hardwired for indoor use only and should be fitted by a licensed electrician. The LED module is integrated, so there is no bulb to change; wipe the shade with a dry cloth when the power is off.
