The Nordic Wooden Bird Wall Lamp adds one small piece of character to an otherwise plain sconce: a ceramic bird perched on the arm, set against solid wood and wrought iron. It is a light touch rather than a novelty, and it gives a bedroom wall or a reading corner something to look at during the day as well as at night. Matte white and matte black finishes are both available.
The shade directs a soft, contained glow downward and outward, covering roughly five to twelve square metres of ambient light without glare. An E27 LED bulb is included, so the lamp is ready to use once it is wired in, and it runs on 110 to 240 V. Solid wood and wrought iron make up the body, giving it real weight and a surface that ages well, at 15 cm wide by 19 cm high.
It suits bedsides, hallways, reading nooks and landings. If you are using it in a child's room, mount it well above reach, keep any cabling out of reach of children, and make sure an adult supervises around the fixture. The lamp is wall mounted, hardwired and for indoor use only, so have a licensed electrician install it. Dust the timber and ceramic with a soft dry cloth, with the power off.
